Playback is an important part of the Submix platform. It is designed to help you manage your DAW projects in three important ways.

The project is currently in Beta, and isn't available on our website. If you'd like to try it out in exchange for some feedback, then get in touch!

Safely work on different versions of your project

We've all seen the jokes about "Audio_Mix_Final_ v7_ REALLY_ FINAL_ I_ MEAN_ IT.ptx". The Submix team certainly know the feeling of thinking that we just needed a few more tweaks to that new track, only to be sitting there hours later in despair, wishing we had left things the way they were.

We think there's a better way to manage versions of your mix or your new track. Playback lets you save different versions (or snapshots) or your DAW project at important points in your work.

You are able to restore any previous version, non-destructively, and safely. You can preview bounces from older versions, and A/B them against your newest work. Version summaries will help you jump into an older project without having to spend hours figuring out what you were doing and why.

Your entire version history will be able to be backed up to an external hard drive, or any cloud storage provider that you already use.

You won't need any complicated naming conventions. You won't need to worry about losing work. Instead of worrying about file management, you can focus on the work, creating with confidence, and delivering the best version of your work when it matters.

Sync your project across devices

Playback lets you backup and sync your project across different devices, using any third party storage provider (Dropbox, iCloud, Google Drive, etc) that you already use.

The way we store your version history ensures that you will make the most efficient use of space, helping you save money on your storage plans.

Share your project with others

Due to the fact that we have designed Playback to work with any third party storage provider, you will be able to use their existing sharing functionality to give others access to your project.

For some (like Dropbox), we already have a deeper integration, allowing you to control access from within the Playback app.
